i went shopping last night with my brother.
he's 6 years younger than me, and 3 inches taller.
we both needed shoes.
we both found shoes after much looking.
both of our shoes were on sale.
we then shared a cinnabon & a mocha latte chill.
he even put up with me talking to him in a British accent most of the evening.
it was fun.
no matter how much he denies it, i think he's gonna miss me once i move out.

so i had a wonderful weekend at the mountians, there was deer, there was camfires, there was games, there was laughter, there was happy day clouds (puffy white ones) - it was great. i get home after a 4 1/2 hours of driving in the back seat of a maxi van,  come home hungry & exhausted, and there are no vehicles in the driveway, no house keys on me. talk about a sinking feeling!
i called mom - her & dad are in hanover but she thought maybe conrad would be home
i call the house phone & try the door. the door is locked, and the house phone just rings.
i turn to head down the walk, contemplating my next move. & i hear the door open behind me.
i turn around, and there stands curt, smiling from ear to ear. i think my mouth dropped open.
that had to be the best surprise of the weekend!
i went inside, had some food, drank some milk ( the first since before i left friday morning!) and had a relaxing, wonderful evening.

Do you know what i hate? sunburn red & purplish are not my favorite skin colors
do you know what else i hate? sun poisoning (not sure if thats what i had, but i'm leaning that way)
nothing like a good burn to make you feel like a kid again. mom combs me, puts on my socks & shoes....
i told her the next time i go to the beach i'm wearing a burka
this is not fun.

did you ever dream you were dreaming?

last night i fell asleep on the sofa, & i must have really been sleeping good too, cause i was dreaming
that i was dreaming. - i'm not sure that ever
happened to me before!
in my dreams dream, it was my wedding day.....
and it was a disaster! i had forgotten to print
the programs, the service started and hour late, there
was a blizzard, and we tried to take pictures outside
in snow up to our waist's, so then my biggest
thing was that i had gotten snow in my shoes.
i had forgotten to tell the singers which songs
i wanted sung where, and they sang "God is Great,
& God is Good" at the reception, then they kept
singing more songs & more songs, & we still hadn't
eaten. ppl started falling asleep so we served
them coffee.....
when i woke up in my dream, i was so relieved
that i had been dreaming, & i started making a checklist
of things to do. one of the things was to take
heaters along to melt the snow to take pictures......
then i woke up for real.
my dreams are weird.

Once in

      a while,
right in the middle of an ordinary
Life,
Love,
                                      gives you a fairy tale.

In March of this year, a song was released by Steven Curtis Chapman. It was inspired by two of his daughters, Stevey Joy, & Maria. Just two months later, on May 21, Maria was killed while playing in their driveway, when an older sibling hit her with the car. While accidents like this are always tragic, the fact that this song was inspired in part by her, makes the song even more meaningful.
"Cinderella"
She spins and she sways to whatever song plays,
Without a care in the world.
And I'm sittin' here wearin' the weight of the world on my shoulders.
It's been a long day and there's still work to do,
She's pulling at me saying "Dad I need you!
There's a ball at the castle and I've been invited and I need to practice my dancin'"
"Oh please, daddy, please!"

So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh I will dance with Cinderella
I don't wanna miss even one song,
Cuz all to soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone

She says he's a nice guy and I'd be impressed
She wants to know if I'd approve of a dress
She says "Dad, the prom is just one week away,
And I need to practice my dancin'"
"Oh please, daddy, please!"

So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
 I will dance with Cinderella
I don't wanna miss even one song,
Cuz all to soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone
She will be gone.

Well, she came home today
With a ring on her hand
Just glowin' and tellin' us all they had planned
She says "Dad, the wedding's due six months away
And I need to practice my dancin'"
"Oh please, daddy please!"

So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
 I will dance with Cinderella
I don't wanna miss even one song,
Cuz all to soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone
